Questions to Ask Yourself About Any Business Opportunity
How to examine a self-employment business opportunity, especially one designed to do business on the Internet.
Opportunity:
- Is the business opportunity or idea that you are considering one that will work for you?
- Do you have or can you get the necessary resources to be successful?
- Will you have the freedom and opportunity to advance in your business career if you want to, or to keep your business as small as you would like?
Value:
- Is the product or service one which will appeal to a distinct market?
- Will the demand for this product or service grow in the future?
- Is the product or service one which you would recommend to a friend?
Affordable Price:
- Is the income opportunity priced reasonably compared to its potential profit? (Be sure to include all probable start-up costs in this calculation.)
- Will it be possible to make back your initial investment in a reasonable period of time?
Financial Benefits:
- Will you be able to realistically reach your income goals?
- If you are marketing for another company, does the company include benefits such as individualized assistance, pre-designed personal websites or customer order-taking that will save you money?
Personal Attention and Customer Support:
- Does the company provide helpful advice and information?
- Does it respond well to your communications?
- Do you get your questions answered in a reasonable time period? (This will be important for the long-term and will make working your business easier for you.)
- Does the company offer similar opportunities to others with whom you can network for support, morale and growth?
Protections:
- Does the company offer any sort of product or service guarantee? (Trust is a very important component of business, and especially in online business, where you cannot see the product or provider. You need guarantees, and so do your customers.)
Convenience:
- Can you fit this business into your current lifestyle?
- Do you have the flexibility of reordering your time or only working part-time if you want to?
- Will working this business help or hinder your family life?
Fun:
- Does the product or service EXCITE you? Can you be passionate about it? Think about this. If you enjoy what you are doing, you will not mind putting in the time and effort that will help you succeed. And if YOU believe in your product, the people you tell about it will too. The true work of honest salesmanship is to help others to see their need of your product, and then meet that need.

I have worked very hard to search out the honest and successful businesses and programs on the web. And if I recommend them to you, I have either worked them myself or checked out their reputations with those who are doing so. I cannot, of course, accept responsibility for the business practices of others, but I am committed to honesty and quality on this website.
