You Never Get a Second Chance to Make a First Impression

They say that when you meet someone for the first time, you have about three seconds before they form a possibly lasting impression about you. That may seem intimidating, especially if you are critical of yourself, your dress, or your intelligence. But something to remember is that the other person is likely to be just as concerned about the impression they are making on you.

Consequently, if you want to make a good "first impression" and have it carry on even after you are gone, the best and fastest way is to make clear your interest and acceptance of the other person. Try not to act nervous. Smile and look him/her in the eye, repeat the person's name and ask a question that shows your interest.

And, if it is at all appropriate, give your new acquaintance your business card so that they will be more likely to remember you. Many people have some useful information on the back of their card so that the person who receives it is more likely to keep it and read it again. For example, if you sell health products, you might add a health tip or some interesting facts to the back of your card. Or an accountant might add a small chart of some type. Now you have not only made a good first impression by simply being interested in the other person, but you have "added value" to your meeting, and you will probably be remembered and remembered well, whether you were eloquent or attractive at the meeting or not.

There are literally millions of small businesses out there that are not doing the business that they could be doing. Some businesses have been around a long time while others are relatively new. Advertising to your local area in newspapers and television commercials is a good way to pull in customers but a lot of people don't realize the kind of revenue they could really make if they expanded their client base.

When I say expand your client base I mean take it to all peoples everywhere, and the best way to do that and become an international business person is to take your business online. People have made millions on the Internet just by opening up their storefront online. This is relatively easy to do and can reap more of a reward than an on air spot on the television in your local area.

I've heard people say that the cost of shipping whatever product they sell would be too much for the online shopper to pay. Or I've heard that they don't know how to build a website and put it online. Excuse after excuse after excuse....

The truth of the matter is that if a customer likes your product they will buy from you regardless of how much it takes to ship it. And if you feel that you aren't qualified to build a website then you can hire someone to do it for you at the cost of one TV commercial in most cases. What an average business person spends on advertising per month can be halved with an online site and online marketing strategy.

The key is to offer your offline clients and the clients online a different approach to your business. A business selling trophies can put a spin on their website by writing articles about all the great people that have won trophies through the years in their area. Or a person that makes jewelry can offer tutorials on how to make jewelry and put a different slant to their website. The idea is to make your business a niche business that offers a different look at the same products.

It doesn't take much to start selling your products online and even if you don't have a storefront or a business it is easy to start one online without all the expense of an offline storefront. All you have to do is pick a product that you are interested in and put a new slant or idea on it and people will come to your site just for the different look and feel of your site in comparison with others. Add new content all the time to your website and watch the search engines do the work of advertising your business for you. How to Achieve Success in the Online Market!
Ten Tips to Help you Stand Out!

1. Pick an area in which a smaller but still pretty large number of people are very emotionally invested but that isn't heavily targeted by online marketers. This is also called a Niche. Many people online have interests that don't flow with everyone and creating a Niche market or fulfilling a need that wasn't being met online can net you a lot of money quickly. Start off small with a website about that niche that you are interested in and build it up. Create an Infoproduct - ebook and/or CD, DVD or print book and offer it on your site and other appropriate places. Maybe set up an affiliate program and advertise for affiliates. Before long you will have a business that is like no other and fulfills a need for other people on the Internet, and people will happily send you money.

2. Plan out your online business and have a sound, strong business plan. Because it is so easy and low-cost to get started in online business, many people start out online without really sitting down and thinking about what their goals are and what they want to achieve with their business, and what it will take to achieve those goals. Sit down with a pen and notebook and make a plan so that you have markers you will work toward meeting. Set aside profits for areas that you want to expand on or for advertising and marketing your business. Make it realistic and doable and plan for every eventuality you can think of.

3. Choose scripts and programs for your website that fit your business, do not fit your business to the program or script. A website script or program should serve both your business and the future of your business. Keep it simple and able to grow with your business so you don't have to do major reconstruction of your website later on down the road.

4. Create your website with the idea of originality to it. Many people can advertise a product, but how is your selling point different from everyone else's? Creating a different slant or approach to your business will put you head and shoulders above your competitors. Think of less usual uses for your product that might make it a more unique offering. Create a brand and stick to it.

5. Make your products that are on special or that sell well highly visible on your site. You want people to know what sells and what products are special on your site. This gives your customers the ability to quickly point, click and buy while their hearts are in it!

6. Don't let people who have bought products from you in the past forget about you. You want to tell them what's new on your site in the hopes that they will be back for more. Collecting a customer's email during check out is a good way to keep them informed about you, your business and your products. Let them know as they sign up that you will be mailing them with specials and news about your website and keep the promotions up so that you get repeat business.

7. Get out there and get recognized! The most important thing to remember about online business is that you will have to advertise your business to get customers. Do everything you can to market yourself and brand yourself and then get yourself in those search engines. The higher ranked your site is in the search engines the faster your business will grow.

8. Be sure that all of your "ducks" are in a row. If your ebooks are rehashed versions of old ebooks or aren't well written, if your scripts are buggy and fail or you can't process a credit card, you won't get far. Remember that bad news travels fast. You need to understand customers will not put up with buggy scripts and mishaps. This is very unprofessional and using a cheap script to process a your customers orders will end up shooting you in the foot figuratively. Make sure that all of your various script operations are working before launching your site and test them frequently to make sure that they are still working. (This is the voice of experience. I could tell you stories...)

9. Stay ahead of the learning curve! There will always be something new around the bend and staying ahead of the learning curve in online business can save you time, money and grief. Understand that if you choose a Niche product you like to sell then you need to be or at least appear to be an expert on it, because your customers will ask questions, believe me. And be aware of anything that is happening in that area of interest. Subscribe to ezines that write about your niche. Visit and contribute to forums on your subject. You need to stay ahead because you can be sure your competitors certainly are. Be fast and fix problems before they become an issue and stay up to date with your niche and online business in general.

10. Give your customers a reason to come back! Give them special discounts as repeat customers. Pamper them, coax them, surprise them and get more for your time and effort. Gaining customer loyalty is the key to staying a success and they will be back for more if you give them a reason.

Answer:

We'd like to think that a computer, once you turn it on, will run forever without any help from you. But this isn't true. Most computers come with a free or trial virus program and a free firewall and this helps, but it is only the first step.

The reason why most computers start to slow down is because there are too many programs running in the background and the computer hasn't had any maintenance done on it lately, often it hasn't been maintained since it was brought home.

You must do regular maintenance your computer such as:

* Run de-fragmentation programs on your hard drive(s) every month or so

* If you run games or large programs, you might want a software that will regularly defragment your memory (RAM) too.

* You must run a good program that will automatically scan for viruses in email and software downloads when you are online.

* You should probably also run a program that scans for "spybots and trojans" that run in the background of your computer, especially if you use Instant Messaging, visit social networking or online game sites, or download a lot of freeware and shareware from sites you aren't sure of. (Most spam in the world is sent through computers that have been "botted" and the computer's owner never knows what is happening, although they may think the computer is running slower.)

* Check your installed programs and uninstall any that you don't use. Some of them may be running behind the scenes without your knowledge and slowing down the works.

* You should weekly or daily (depending on how much you use your computer) run a safe program that will clean your registry to get rid of old registry keys and files that are no longer needed.

* Other things to check are how full your hard drive is and whether your operating system has room for the swap or page file, and you should keep in mind that not all programs will play nice together and may conflict with each other, which can also cause slowdowns.

Not only that but you must keep these programs that are helping you maintain your computer up to date so that they can do their job. System Mechanic 2.1 is not going to help you when there is version 7 available. Programs like Disc Doctor, RegistryFix, Kapersky Antivirus and Firewall, or System Mechanic will all help you to maintain your computer and keep it in top running condition.

If you computer keeps going on like it is it will eventually freeze and crash until the operating system become corrupted and you will have to reinstall your operating system and lose all your personal data if you also don't have any backups.

Backups are the key to keeping your files and important things on your computer safe. Remember that a fatal error and the blue screen of death can occur at any time so keeping regular backups can save you and your information.

Remember that "It's all just 1's and 0's, and it doesn't take much to turn it all to just 0."
