It Takes Intestinal Fortitude to Start an Online Business!

A lot of people are afraid to try anything new. It's a fear that keeps people trapped in the same dead end place they have always been - getting poorer and more desperate for relief. Pride also plays a factor in this. People sometimes are afraid to admit that they are ignorant about something and will choose to stay in the same place rather than learn something new that could enrich their lives in more ways than one. There is an adage that says "Better a known evil than an Unknown." But if everyone felt that way, we'd still be living in caves. I prefer the adage that says "The only way to fail is to Quit!" And of course, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."

Since you are reading this ezine, obviously you are not one of those people who are frightened into inaction, I'd guess that you would love to start or to grow your own business and live your daily life your own way. If ever there was a time to get out there and try something new this is the time to do it. As the economies of the United States and many other countries get shakier and prices inflate incredibly you owe it to yourself and your family to try something new - to be more and learn more than you have before. Even if it means going back to school, or spending your precious spare time after work learning and practicing building your own business. This is the time to do it to make your life better.

You can build on what you already know with help from other people that are willing to give you a hand up. It's easier than you think to start an online business. Most of what it takes is a determination to try something new. To not be intimidated by computers and technology. To allow yourself to learn and be taught by others. There are many people out on the Internet who want to help you and aren't just wanting to fleece you of your money. Yes there are dangers and cons on the Web just as anywhere else, but the good people are out there too and you can find them.

It isn't easy starting something new or overcoming fear. It takes a tremendous amount of guts to try. But these are the people who, if they don't allow rejection and depression to overcome them, will eventually succeed on the Internet if they stick with it. There is no such thing as a Get Rich Instantly business on the Internet. Usually the only people that benefit from such companies are the people who start them. But no where else that we know of can you do as we did in 1999 and start a business with absolutely no money invested and build the business with only the money that the business itself earned.

So get out there and choose or create a product that you can sell and is important to you. Affiliate with the company selling that product, or develop it yourself. Start your own website and advertise that business. Get on the phone, submit your site to different places online, type about your product on your own blog. Or if you have a little extra money, hire someone to do it for you and get your money back with interest! The point is - do more than sit there and complain. Turn your power and your energy to something positive for you and your family. And make the money you need to survive in today's economy.

How Printed Media and Online Graphics Can Boost Your Business

In today's economy everyone is trying to cut corners and downsize their business as much as possible. They may discount the fact that advertising through business cards, flyers, pamphets, postcards and other printed media is actually amazingly cost-effective and will help your business bring in more customers.

People like to see things and hold things that tell them about your business. This is why full color newspaper ads cost more, because they bring in more customers. That is why having a nicely colored professionally printed business card says, "I'm a Professional." It doesn't take much money or effort, and you can pay for hundreds of cards for what you will earn from one sale that business card brings in.

Another item worth the investment is banner ads. Banner ads are essentially an online business card. The more professional your banner is, the more credibility you have with the viewer, even if you are a newcomer to the Internet. Match your business cards, banner design and website logo and you will inspire confidence in your product or services even before your potential customer ever reads the features of your offer.

An Introduction to Affiliate Marketing

What exactly is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is probably the fastest and lowest-cost way to earn your own money on the Internet. We started our online business with affiliate marketing, and we still earn a large percentage of our income that way.

Putting it simply, affiliate marketing is commission sales. In commission sales, on or offline, you are paid for selling something that is provided by and belongs to another company. When you sell an affiliated product, the original company pays you a percentage of what they earn on the sale. Everything from real estate to website scripts is sold via commission sales, it is very common.

As an affiliate marketer, you can either sell affiliate products that fit with your own product or service, or you can create your own website, blog and/or newsletter on a particular subject, write content for the site or newsletter about the subject, sign up for the affiliate program of related products or services that you like and simply add recommendations and reviews of the related products along with your site's content.

Some things that a successful affiliate marketer must have are:

1. A professional-looking website or blog.

Your website or blog is the foundation of all your marketing efforts. So your first step is to build a website that is credible. Don't fill your site up with banner strips and so many ads that the viewer's eyes cross. Make your visitors feel comfortable and make the content on your site the focus, not the ads.
